This has been a big one, if you are seeing pop ups like the one pictured on the right you are more than likely infected with one of the fake rouge antivirus programs.
Fake antivirus/spy ware programs will generate frequent pop up alert messages of a virus and or trojans on your system or the System will be flooded with the pop ups even if user is off line thus in form of advertisement (adware)
Rogue antivirus symptoms include, The computer slows down, sometimes the system crashes, browser corruption, it can even manipulate browser settings & desktop shortcuts.
Some other signs of infection may include a computer that automatically reboots, automatically down loading of any new software, new wall papers, or your home page is redirected to another site
